What you'll learn
Learn Tai Chi and fitness with our sport & fitness short courses in Sydney!
Tai Chi combines soft, slow and firm movements to engage the body and mind to restore the balance of Yin Yang and Qi (life) energy to increase strength and energy, which will help improve your health and well-being. Studies have also shown that Tai Chi can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance.
This course builds on the foundation covered in the beginners’ class and continues to explore this ancient art as a Healing and Martial Art.
The students will go deeper into the process of how to relax the body, ground, become centered, use core muscles, open the joints and find correct postural alignment. They will learn a “form”, a set of sequential flowing movements, where they will develop their abilities to experience and integrate all of their new found skills.
Participants will study a 13 movement Chi Gong/Tai Chi form designed to lead them into rapidly experiencing calmness, centreing and spacial awareness. They will have a real sense of achievement once they complete this compact form which can be practised in a small (2x2m) space.
Having completed the first form, students will then progress onto the longer 24 Beijing form to learn the principles and applications associated with the new movements of this form.
