Achievements
Jenny Kapp owns a copywriting, training and podcasting business called handykapp. Her other achievements include producing radio documentaries for ABC Radio on topics ranging from young people with disabilities, to phobias, and the dark side of lawn bowls. In 1993, Jenny won the Zonta International Young Woman in Public Award (Hornsby Ku-ring-gai area). She served as a director of The Spastic Centre from 1999 to 2003.
Teaching Style
It’s always been Jenny’s mission to change the world and she finds teaching is one of the best ways to do that. Even if Jenny can only help one person in a class to think about something in a new way, she considers it a big success. She’s also mindful teaching isn’t a one-way process, so her classes are designed for students to learn from each other and take away information that’s relevant to their interests or work. Jenny uses a combination of hands-on group activities, reading and reflection to accommodate various learning styles. Death by PowerPoint is not an option!
Something Unique
Jenny is quite candid about her life so there’s not much people don’t already know. She has cerebral palsy. She is adopted (and recently found her birth mother). Her cat is called Zenobia, after the head-kicking Syrian warrior princess, and she’s been obsessed with Mozart and his music since she was about four years old.
