My achievements -
Many press releases over the years. These reports have always been independently submitted to the newspapers from students who have attended the SleepEasy Workshop.
My teaching style -
I consider it a privilege to support and guide students and clients towards opening up to their own understanding of the subject matter. They are encouraged to not just blindly accept what I am teaching, but to journey with me with their own enquiring mind and reflect on what is being taught to them and its relevance to their own particular circumstances and life.
Educate comes from ‘edu - cate’ - to bring out from within and this is what I am interested in; sparking the student to ‘bring out’ his or her own understanding of the subject, not just accumulate facts.
Not only is it my wish that students acquire a good understanding of the subject, but that they also acquire much more on how to live their lives better and achieve an improved, rewarding experience of day-to-day life.
I love to present down-to-earth, commonsense facts and practices and so the SleepEasy Workshop is balanced not only with lectures but also plenty of time to practice what is being taught, e.g. Breathing techniques, relaxation.
Something unique or unusual that people might not know about me -
My passion for understanding the world of mind, energy, emotions and spirituality led me to live in a yoga/Buddhist monastic environment from 1983 for six years. I acquired in-depth experience and disciplines on breathing techniques, relaxation, meditation and investigating the field of death and dying. This experience has proven to be invaluable in helping my students and clients deal with their own struggles to understand their inner experiences in relation to stress, sleep and better life.
When not teaching or consulting I enjoy sailing, philosophy, wine and the humour of Spike Milligan and Billy Connolly.
