Nils Sanders
Coming from a family of architects and woodworkers, Nils is deeply rooted in artisanry and design. Over the last ten years he has worked as a carpenter and cabinetmaker across Ireland, Germany, Spain, and now Australia, focusing on traditional joinery, modern cabinetry, and finishing carpentry. He has applied his trade in diverse fields and projects, from restoring period Georgian windows in Dublin, to building shepherds' huts in the high Pyrenees or spaceships on Hollywood blockbusters in Sydney!
Nils is also a keen environmentalist and was heavily involved in environmental movements in Ireland. He is always on the lookout for sustainable and environmentally conscious building products and practices - especially when it comes to clever ideas for repurposing and recycling!
As a teacher, Nils fosters an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere in the workshop. He firmly believes that the building trades should be open to everyone, regardless of their background or prior experience. Nils is especially keen on encouraging newcomers to construction and woodworking and those from social groups less commonly associated with these handcrafts.
