Gail Monjo

Gail has been a singer/actor/musician for the past 40 years working in big stage musical theatre productions, to intimate nightclubs. She began her singing career as a support act to touring international artists in Brisbane, as well as touring to regional Queensland areas with local bands. Her voice has been behind many a radio jingle and remembers her tenure as Maid Marion in a cabaret theatre restaurant venue as an invaluable training ground for stage presence and audience interaction.

Since moving to Sydney and after gaining a degree in dramatic art from NIDA she performed in a musical called Baby in the role of Lizzie. She has sung in a cappella groups while on tour with the New England Theatre Company. In between acting jobs she sung in a trio of women performing their own material as well as sourcing eclectic music from around the world. Currently she is teaching ukulele and guitar to students of all ages and is the lead singer in a jazz band called The Jazz Junkies who perform regularly in jazz venues around Sydney.
