Keith Armitage
Keith Armitage has spent his whole life as a professional musician, entertainer, event’s organiser and songwriter and in 2001 songs from his debut CD won him the Rudy Brandsma Award which is awarded by the Australian Songwriters Association to the most outstanding songwriter of the year in their National Songwriting Competition.
Keith discovered, when trying to promote his CD, that there weren’t many places to play live original music and so 20 years he started Songwriters Live Australia showcasing 40-50 emerging songwriters a month. Over the years he has hosted hundreds of songwriters including Angus and Julia Stone, Troy Cassar Daley, James Blundell, Rick Price and many more.
Keith also started SongCamp, a weekend workshop retreat for songwriters to learn the craft and enlisted the help of high-profile songwriters such as Rick Price, Brian Cadd, Beccy Cole, and many more.
Keith has also organised, hosted and co-judged many live Songwriting competitions including the highly successful, “Young, Live and Local” at the Dee Why RSL.
Keith brings a wealth of information to the craft from all these aspects and promises a fun, inciteful and comprehensive course on the craft of Songwriting.
