Teaching style
Matthew believes that everyone can draw - and that drawing is a beautiful medium for observing and reflecting on the world. He teaches through a structured program, step by step, building up the student's foundational skills in the techniques of drawing and representation. At the same time, students will be encouraged to experiment and find their own mode of visual expression.
Something unique
With a multifaceted education in art, Matthew combined his architectural studies with drawing and painting lessons at the Julian Ashton School of Art, National Art School, as well as painting with Charlie Sheard. This has allowed him to develop his own practice that is indebted to a combination of this training.
