Student Responsibilities
As such, students at the College have similar responsibilities in respect of the College and to each other. Students therefore will:
- Respect the individuality and rights of all fellow students
- Respect the right of College staff to be treated in a fair and civil manner
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality in respect of all matters relating to students and staff
- Adhere to directions from the class tutor
- Work safely and not endanger others in the class
- Participate positively in class
- Adhere to all College policies and procedures, including any rules and regulations (where known) governing the College’s operations
- Be aware of, apply and adhere to access and equity obligations described at Access and Equity.
Staff Responsibilities
The College expects staff members to demonstrate professionalism and integrity in their interactions with students, fellow staff members, and external stakeholders. Staff members including teaching staff will:
- Treat all students with respect, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Treat all fellow staff members with respect, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and staff matters in accordance with the College’s privacy policies
- Ensure that directions provided to students are clear, fair, and promote a safe and engaging learning experience
- Support students in understanding and complying with College policies, including access and equity obligations
- Participate in the development of an inclusive and equitable environment that supports diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all
- Conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism, adhering to the College’s policies and procedures
- Maintain open lines of communication with students, responding to queries and concerns in a timely and respectful manner
- Engage in continuous professional development to ensure high-quality teaching and administrative practices.
