That's right - the materials for this class are entirely collected from plants in the area.
You'll be using just a few simple tools, some easy-to-learn techniques - plus a little clever engineering - to create functional, sculptural forms celebrating the natural beauty of plants.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this weaving course, you should have learned:
- A brief history of random weaving and how it differs from other basketry techniques
- An understanding of the structural and decorative elements of random weave
- What plants to use
- To create your own random weave vessel to take home

This course is for beginners or people who want to extended their handcraft, weaving, and/or sculpture techniques.

Materials
All materials and tools are supplied.
What to bring to class
- Please bring 2 old bath towels to work on
- Bring a large bag/tote bag to take your work and any extra materials home
- There will be a short lunch break only, so please bring lunch/snacks
- Bring a water bottle and your own cup if you want to make tea/coffee
- Closed-in shoes required
- Please wear comfortable clothes that can get messy
