With this series of eight urban walks, you can explore some of the city's most iconic sights, hidden gems, and vibrant neighbourhoods—all easily accessible by public transport. Each walk offers a unique experience, whether you're looking to wander along the coast, delve into Sydney's history, or enjoy the tranquillity of its parks.

Walk 1: Circular Quay to Barangaroo 

Take in some of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks on this scenic walk from Circular Quay to Barangaroo. Begin at Circular Quay, where you can admire the grandeur of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Wander through the historic streets of The Rocks, then follow the path along the harbour to Barangaroo Reserve, a beautifully landscaped green space with stunning water views. 

  • Transport: Accessible via Circular Quay Station (Train, Bus, Ferry). 

Walk 2: Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk 

Explore Sydney's famous coastline on this stunning walk from Bondi to Coogee. The path winds past clifftops, sandy beaches, and hidden coves, offering breathtaking ocean views at every turn. Along the way, you'll pass through Tamarama, Bronte, and Clovelly, each with its own unique charm. 

  • Transport: Accessible by bus from Bondi Junction Station to Bondi Beach.

Walk 3: Glebe Foreshore Walk 

This walk offers a peaceful escape from the city while still being right in its heart. Starting in Glebe, follow the foreshore paths along Blackwattle Bay, past Bicentennial Park, and towards the Sydney Fish Market. Enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline and the ANZAC Bridge as you explore this harbourside haven. 

  • Transport: Accessible via Glebe Light Rail Station.

Walk 4: Spit Bridge to Manly Walk 

A longer walk for the adventurous, this path from Spit Bridge to Manly showcases Sydney's natural beauty. Winding through bushland and along the harbour, you'll encounter secluded beaches, dramatic cliffs, and scenic lookouts. End your journey at Manly Beach, where you can relax and soak in the coastal atmosphere. 

  • Transport: Bus to Spit Bridge, ferry return from Manly.

Walk 5: Darling Harbour to Pyrmont Bridge 

This leisurely urban walk takes you through one of Sydney’s vibrant waterfront precincts. Begin at Darling Harbour, stroll past the Australian National Maritime Museum, and cross the historic Pyrmont Bridge. Along the way, enjoy the lively atmosphere, public art installations, and panoramic harbour views. 

  • Transport: Accessible via Town Hall Station.

Walk 6: The Rocks to Barangaroo via Millers Point 

Explore Sydney's oldest neighbourhoods on this walk from The Rocks to Barangaroo. Wander through narrow, cobblestone streets, take in the architecture of historic buildings, and visit Sydney Observatory. Continue along the harbour, passing through Millers Point before arriving at the contemporary parklands of Barangaroo. 

  • Transport: Accessible via Circular Quay Station.

Walk 7: Watsons Bay to Rose Bay Coastal Walk 

Escape the hustle and bustle with a peaceful harbour-side walk from Watsons Bay to Rose Bay. Start at Watsons Bay and follow the coastal path past Camp Cove, and the sweeping views of Sydney Harbour National Park, before reaching the serene Nielsen Park. Finish the walk at Rose Bay, a perfect spot to unwind and take in the views. 

  • Transport: Ferry to Watsons Bay, bus return from Rose Bay.

Walk 8: Centennial Parklands Circuit 

Experience one of Sydney’s largest urban green spaces on this walk through Centennial Parklands. Wander along open fields, explore formal gardens, and enjoy the park's ponds and wooded areas. This tranquil walk offers a refreshing break from city life, with plenty of opportunities to relax and observe local wildlife. 

  • Transport: Accessible by bus to Paddington Gates or light rail to Moore Park.
